Among the many theme parks on the Riviera Maya, Xcaret shines above all others for bringing everything together in one place—nature, adventure, celebrations, sensory experiences, cenote excursions and journeys to archaeological treasures. Here, you can connect with native flora and fauna, embrace thrilling adventure sports and immerse yourself in Mexico’s traditions and culture through artistic performances brimming with magic and excitement.
The name Xcaret comes from the Mayan language and means “small cove”, a tribute to the area’s natural geography, where several underground rivers flow into the Caribbean Sea.
Though the site still preserves vestiges of pre-Columbian architecture, the recreational park was officially founded in 1990, within the municipality of Solidaridad, Quintana Roo. Spanning more than 80 hectares and offering around 50 attractions, Xcaret is dedicated above all to preserving local biodiversity and reviving Mexico’s traditional culture through immersive experiences.
This extraordinary nature theme park unfolds through several colour-coded routes, each offering a different type of adventure. Depending on the trail you choose, you may encounter lush jungles, pristine beaches, winding underground rivers, and even remnants of ancient civilizations.
The Black Trail is the longest trail in Xcaret. It starts in the Plaza Principal and winds through natural, cultural and recreational areas leading to the mouth of the underground rivers. It’s a perfect trail for anyone who wants to explore the park on foot and at a more leisurely pace, spending time enjoying its most iconic locations.
Along the route you will see:
The Blue Road leads into the Xcaret marine world, allowing visitors to discover the extraordinary biodiversity that lives in the seas of Mexico. The perfect tour for anyone who loves the oceans and underwater life.

El Brown Trail celebrates the cultural and artisan wealth of Mexico through a tour full of history, colour and traditions.

The Red Trail is the last route and one of the most spectacular. It hugs the coastline and offers some of the best views of the Caribbean Sea. Undoubtedly the perfect ending to a perfect day at Xcaret.
Along the route you will see:
Xcaret is only 6 kilometres from Playa del Carmen and about 75 kilometres from Cancun. From Grand Palladium Hotels & Resorts and TRS Hotels you can hire the official Xcaret transport which will pick you up at our hotels and take you directly to the park.
We recommend you wear comfortable and lightweight clothing made of natural fabrics, a swimsuit and shoes that you can get wet. Don't forget to pack biodegradable sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat.
There are several types of tickets with different inclusions. Our recommendation is to check the official website as the time of your visit approaches, as there are often changes to schedules and prices. In our hotel lobbies we can provide you with all the information you need.
