Explore Ibiza’s wonderful beaches and enjoy the sun and the sea.
The 210 kilometers of Ibiza’s coastline and its almost 60 beaches offer an incomparable setting for enjoying simple pleasures by the sea. The north of the island, with its wild coves, is perfect for practicing water sports, such as diving, paddle surfing or kayaking, in a calm environment. The south, on the other hand, offers the most vibrant version of the island with its beach clubs and restaurants where you can enjoy a good plate of fish at sunset. Below is a selection of the best beaches on Pitiusa Island.
Caló des Moro
Caló des Moro is a quiet family beach, located a short distance from the center of Sant Antoni. Surrounded by hotels and tourist apartments and easily accessible, it is usually one of the island’s busiest beaches. As it’s located in a rocky area, it’s perfect for snorkeling.
Playa de ses Salines
Ses Salines is the fashionable beach, where every year the most famous faces on the international scene gather. This sandy area is part of the Ses Salines Nature Park, an area protected for its ecological value. Open and spacious, it is most notable for the transparency of its waters, its restaurants with views and its proximity to the city of Ibiza.
Cala Boix
This jewel of fine, dark sand can be found in the eastern part of the island of Ibiza. This quiet beach has an enchanting beach bar and several restaurants known for the quality of their seafood. To get to it, you have to go down a steep staircase, which makes access difficult for people with reduced mobility.
Cala Salada and Cala Saladeta
This beach is formed between two coves: Cala Salada and its little sister, Cala Saladeta, separated by impressive rocky cliffs that house old fishing huts. Quiet, family-friendly and surrounded by Mediterranean forest, it is perfect for relaxing on a sun lounger and admiring the landscape or enjoying a refreshing swim .
Es Bol Nou
Es Bol Nou, a few kilometers from Sant Josep, has everything you could ask for in a family beach: shallow waters, relaxed atmosphere, a fish bar, a clothing store and the possibility of visiting the Phoenician Village of Sa Caleta, from the 8th century BC A peculiarity of this cove is its orange cliffs, whose clay has toning properties.
Cala Gració
Cala Gració is a small cove much frequented by families in the area. Nestled between soft rocky promontories and a lush forest of juniper and pine, this small beach invites you to enjoy and relax. It has a host of services and a beach bar with parking, where you can taste traditional dishes. Within walking distance, you can visit the Cap Blanc natural aquarium
Playa d’en Bossa
The beach with possibly the greatest variety of services and activities on the entire island. Located just 3 kilometers from the city of Ibiza, it covers an area of about 2,700 meters of fine sand. Playa d'en Bossa has an outstanding lively atmosphere, and is the favorite place for young people wanting to party.
Es Cavallet
With more than a kilometer of fine sand, Es Cavallet is a UNESCO World Heritage Site belonging to the Ses Salines Nature Park, an area of wild nature and virgin landscapes devoid of any nearby buildings. It’s also famous for a gay and nudist area, although in practice it’s frequented by all types of visitors.
Cala d´Hort
A small pebble beach with crystal-clear waters located 8 kilometers from the town of San Josep. It’s ideal for spending the day as a couple or with friends; it’s best noted for its beautiful sunsets with views of the magical islet of Es Vedrá.
Cala Tarida
An expanse of fine sand and turquoise waters, famous for offering a calmer and more peaceful environment. Cala Tarida has several bars and restaurants nearby, but above all it stands out because it is ideal for snorkeling, thanks to its fabulous white sandy bottom with rocky areas.
