The Fiesta Hotel Group which largely dedicates its business to the resort market, with hotels in the Balearic and Canary islands, as well as Sicily and the Caribbean, has decided to develop its city line, part of an adventure that began eight years ago when the company took on the Gran Hotel Colón in Madrid.
The opening of the Fiesta Hotel Caspe in March 2004, our first hotel in Barcelona, which is already run by our chain, has resulted in the launch of our city line, with four star hotels aimed at satisfying the needs of our guests that require lodging in large cities, such as executive guests, congresses, families and of course, groups and incentives.
Continuing our development, during 2006 our chain began running the Hotel Ocean Drive, located in the marina in Ibiza, open all-year-around, and accommodating important people that seek modern facilities in harmony with the island itself.
During the same year we have further developed our city line with one of the most emblematic hotels in Valencia, the Hotel Astoria Palace, located in the heart of the city and which has accommodated in the past important personalities, such as politics and renowned sportsmen. Some of the city’s most notorious events have been held in their excellent meeting rooms and it has provided, without doubt, an exquisite cuisine that has been awarded by the Chamber of Commerce of Valencia.
By incorporating the Hotel Astoria Palace, the chain has reaffirmed its development in the executive and business market, as well as the major events and banquets market, combined with an extensive and select cuisine.
Another important feature of our development objectives will be the opening of our second hotel in Barcelona at the beginnings of 2007. The hotel will enjoy a top location, on the Gran Via, alongside the Plaza de España, and provide approximately 200 rooms, as well as large modern meeting rooms, following the same line as the rest of the chain. Further on, at the beginning of 2008, the company will open its third hotel in Barcelona, nearby the Sagrada Familia. These new hotels clearly mark what will be the future image of the chain, although ensuring at the time, that each hotel has its own particular personality.
The Fiesta Hotel Group has begun its City adventure, with continuous and ambitious development projects that expand beyond our frontiers. Portugal is one of the first objectives and creating what will be a new brand that will be made public during the inauguration of our second hotel in Barcelona, at the beginning of 2007, thus recovering what has been one of our most important segments for our city hotels, the executive market, major events, conventions, wedding banquets, which have regained importance for our F&B facilities. In this regard, major investments have been made and a range of menus have been selected so as to respond to our guests’ highest demands.
