INFORMATION HR 2014At the end of 2014, we in Palladium Hotel Group redefined our mission as a company and set ourselves the target of turning our customers into our fans. As is only logical, our goal is that our customers should be 100% satisfied; we work for and on behalf of our customers and we consider them at all times to be the absolute protagonists of our work. Not only do we want them to enjoy their stay with us as much as possible, we also want them to have truly unique experiences. We endeavour to exceed their expectations, to surprise them with sensations that go one step further, to create special moments that will remain in their memory.

In 2014, Palladium Hotel Group received and processed a total of 50,478 curricula vitae from all over the world. A quite extraordinary number demonstrating that, year after year, more and more people want to be a part of this team and of the success of our company.
We are growing steadily and purposefully. During 2014, we interviewed 11,741 candidates, of whom 4,672 were hired. The average global workforce stood at 9,380 workers (9.4% more than in 2013).

The employee turnover rate and the ratio of absenteeism show clearly that that is the case: in 2014 the employee turnover rate reached a minimum percentage of 2.4% and the ratio of absenteeism was 1.9%, lower values than in previous years and well below the industry average.
We encourage internal promotion by rewarding effort and talent; that is why in 2014, 733 of our collaborators were promoted worldwide, 170 more than the previous year. This figure means that almost 10% of our collaborators are promoted each year. This data is indicative of another of the important objectives that we in Palladium have set ourselves: that of giving our employees the chance to grow professionally, providing stability and an opportunity to forge a career for themselves - something that very few companies today are able to guarantee.
We want every collaborator to develop his or her professional life in an environment that, although highly competitive, is nonetheless in harmony and balance with their personal life. Towards the end of the sixties, the Matutes family starts its adventure in the tourism sector with the opening of two hotels in Ibiza.
In this decade, the brand FIESTA HOTELS & RESORTS is born and with it starts the enlargement of the chain in Ibiza, Minorca and Mallorca becoming one of the leaders in holiday tourism in the Spanish market.
FIESTA HOTELS & RESORTS enters the Canary Islands, opening two establishments in Tenerife and a third one in Fuerteventura.
In the nineties, FIESTA HOTELS & RESORTS starts its expansion in the Caribbean opening three luxurious resorts in Playa Bávaro (Dominican Republic) and an urban hotel in Santo Domingo. With this last one, FIESTA HOTELS AND RESORTS enters the city hotels sector. Not long after, two more establishments belonging to this sector are opened in Valencia and Madrid.
Year 2000With the new millennium FIESTA HOTELS & RESORTS keeps on growing opening its first hotel in Italy, specifically in Sicily.
Year 2002The chain extends its offer in the Caribbean with two new eco-resorts of great luxury in the Riviera Maya (Mexico). With the inauguration of these resorts PALLADIUM HOTELS & RESORTS is born, a new brand that includes all the high class hotels of the company.
Year 2003Fiesta Hotel Athenèe Palace is opened, second hotel in Italy (Sicily) and located just beside the already existing Fiesta Hotel Garden Beach.
Year 2004This year is quite important for the company’s enlargement and its quality policy. The chain changes its name to FIESTA HOTEL GROUP, it segments its establishments and it creates new brands for every one of them. In the beginning of the year, Fiesta Hotel Caspe is opened in Barcelona, being the fourth hotel in the urban sector of the company. The Quality policy has taken FIESTA HOTEL GROUP to make big financial investments in reforms and modernising all the facilities of the establishments. Some of the most important ones have been made in the Fiesta Hotel Palmyra (Ibiza), which has obtained its fourth star and the Fiesta Bávaro Resort & Spa (Playa Bávaro) that now is named Grand Palladium Bávaro Resort & Spa.
Year 20052005 has been a year of major changes for the FIESTA HOTEL GROUP. With regard to Spain and concerning resort hotels on the island of Ibiza, the chain sold the Fiesta Hotel San Remo, the Fiesta Hotel S’Estanyol and Lido & Cap Nonó Apartments. On this very same island, the company started to work on its first Palladium resort in Spain, the Palladium Palace Ibiza Resort, which will open its doors during 2006. In relation to new purchases, another major milestone undertaken by the FIESTA HOTEL GROUP is the opening of two new city hotels in Barcelona, one on the Gran Vía and the other close to the Sagrada Familia, expected to open during 2006. This year the chain has also acquired its first plot of land in Jamaica, where the company will build a new Grand Palladium resort providing 2000 rooms. Concerning openings, several hotels have started operations, such as the Hotel Rural Sa Talaia in Ibiza, thus initiating a new category of hotels which will promote rural tourism, the Riviera Maya, Mexico, the Grand Palladium White Sand Resort & Spa and the Grand Palladium Riviera Resort & Spa, estates that occupy 1.220.000 m2 of land right on the sea front. Another event to be highlighted is how old Fiesta Beach Resort & Spa, following a major refurbishment has become part of the Palladium brand, now renamed the Grand Palladium Punta Cana Resort & Spa. Other significant changes for the chain have been the modernisation of its Corporate Image with new logos, as well as several hotels in Ibiza being awarded with new quality “Q’s” and Environmental Certificates.
The Fiesta Hotel Group has continued to grow over 2006. In connection with the Palladium Hotels & Resorts brand, special emphasis must be made on the commencement of the works of the new resort in Jamaica. In November, the Company’s Chairman, Mr. Abel Matutes, laid the first stone of a resort that will boast 1800 rooms, the Grand Palladium Jamaica Resort & Spa and the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton Resort & Spa.
The resort based in Punta Cana opened a new restaurant in the luxurious area known as “The Royal Suites”, which will provide select cuisine to the most exigent guests.
Continuing with the Caribbean, more specifically in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where the new “Royal Suites” have been finalised, an exclusive luxury area which can also be found at the Punta Cana and Riviera Maya resorts. The “Royal Suites” at Puerto Vallarta provide guests with 100 new outstanding rooms.
In Ibiza, the chain stopped operating the Fiesta Club Vista Bahía and sold the Fiesta Hotel San Diego, in line with the its desire to promote prestigious and higher quality hotels. The Palladium Palace Ibiza Resort also opened its doors, with enormous success, thus launching the Palladium Hotels & Resorts brand in Spain.
As the year drew to an end, the company prepared the launching of the new brand which would become part of the group as of 1st January, 2007: Ayre Hoteles, assigned to city hotels, coinciding with the opening of its newest hotel, the Ayre Hotel Gran Vía.
With regard to the company plans for the coming years, we can highlight the purchasing of plots all over the world, especially in destinations such as Porto (Portugal) and Brazil, in line with the chain’s development policy.
2007/08In 2007, Mr. Abel Matutes Prats was named CEO of Fiesta Hotel Group, implementing a new strategy for the company that established the doubling of the number of rooms in 5 years, standardizing of product and search for upcoming destinations as priorities. In July of 2008, two brand new resorts were inaugurated in Jamaica: the Grand Palladium Jamaica Resort & Spa and the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton Resort & Spa. These two new resorts, situated only 25 minutes from the Montego Bay Airport, offer a wide variety of facilities and services for all ages. In 2008 the company also created many improvements for The Royal Suites by Palladium brand, increasing its services with significant extras such as: butler service, VIP beaches, 24 hour room service and much, much more. The upcoming The Royal Suites Sunset by Palladium is also being planned to expand on the success of these newest additions to the Palladium brand.
A year full of improvements and positive events despite the global economic situation, Fiesta Hotel Group incorporates 3 new hotels to its brand Ayre Hotels; the Ayre Hotel Rosellón (Barcelona), the Ayre Hotel Córdoba and the Ayre Hotel Sevilla. In addition, a complete refurbishment was made to Ayre Hotel’s emblematic establishment in Madrid, the Ayre Gran Hotel Colón, making it one of the biggest hotels in the city and with first class meetings and events. The next Ayre Hotel to be opened in 2011 is located on Barquillo street in the popular neighborhood Chueca. Following this ambitious growth strategy, Fiesta Hotel Group is working hard on its next project in Salvador de Bahía, Brazil. Celebrating its upcoming opening with a dinner/cocktail in Sao Paolo, Brazil, the resort (opening in June 2010) was received with praise by the industry. In efforts to create a closer relationship between the company and its guests, Fiesta Hotel Group launched various initiatives during 2009 that marked an important step forward for both. With the launching of its newsletter, Fiesta Hotel Group is able to inform subscribers of the latest news as well as exclusive discounts. Its photography contest “The FHG Experience,” allows guests to upload their photos of the resort and destination to compete for valuable prizes.
Year 2010The company continues to grow with two new hotels in Madrid scheduled to open: one on Barquillo Street, in the popular neighborhood of Chueca, and another one right in front of the AVE station in Atoche. Both hotels, under the brand Ayre, are estimated to be fully operating in the last trimester of 2011. On the other hand, and staying true to the Strategic Plan for 2007-2012 and its ambitious objectives in the area of Human Resources, Raúl Benito García joined the company as the Corporate Director of Human Resources. Mr. García boasts over 15 years of experience in this area.
Year 20112011 marks a turning point for the Group. Following an agreement with Yann Pissenem, founder of the Ushuaïa Beach Club, what had been the Fiesta Club Playa d'en Bossa is renovated and relaunched as the Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel. This innovative hotel concept, which aims to offer a unique and very exclusive hotel and leisure experience, quickly becomes the company's flagship hotel in Ibiza and one of the world's top destinations for clubbing at an international level thanks to a concert series and schedule of parties with the most important DJs on the scene, spectacular staging and a combination of VIP services and facilities with cutting-edge technology. By launching this hotel, Palladium Hotel Group continues its innovative model which began with the remodel of the Grand Palladium Palace Ibiza Resort & Spa in 2009 to make Playa d'en Bossa into a leading, top-quality tourist destination in the Mediterranean.
Also, in the Santa Eulalia area, several improvements are made to the Palladium Hotel Don Carlos, which becomes an Adults Only hotel and is completely remodelled. The rooms at the Palladium Hotel Cala Llonga are also renovated.
In the Americas, surrounded by nature and greenery in idyllic settings, the Group strives to improve on the already high quality of its services. To achieve this, the Palladium Vallarta Resort & Spa becomes a five-star Grand Palladium, with improved facilities and customer service. Also, the Grand Palladium Punta Cana Resort & Spa opens the largest kids club in the Caribbean– “Castillo del Pirata”, combining the Mini Club and the Baby Club.
Year 2012Just before reaching the golden age of 50 in 2012, the Group decides to revamp its image by becoming the Palladium Hotel Group, taking its name from its five-star Caribbean resorts. The aim is to convey a corporate philosophy based on excellence and high standards, as well as a desire for progress and an interest in building an international presence. The new name unites all the sub-brands under one umbrella. The city hotels, music-themed hotels and holiday resorts are grouped into an organisational structure that leaves the door open to new future additions. The Palladium Hotel Group is created to clearly define the direction of this new stage where the customer and human capital are the Group's priority.
Year 2013Following two magical seasons in which Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel became a flagship hotel on the White Island, renovations begin at the neighbouring Fiesta Hotel Playa D’en Bossa, renamed The Ushuaïa Tower. This amazing eight-storey tower brings to Ushuaïa luxury suites where the very latest in design are again the key attraction. The crown jewel, the I'm On Top of the World suite, becomes the island's largest suite at 166 m2. It also boasts a roof terrace with a sky lounge with unbeatable views of Ibiza.
Elsewhere, following renovations at calle Barquillo in the Spanish capital, the Group opens the Madrid Only YOU Hotel & Lounge as part of its urban brand Ayre Hoteles. In a nineteenth century palace, this exquisitely decorated and centrally located hotel offers unique cuisine, with its Sunday brunch and excellent cocktail bar.
In the Dominican Republic, all rooms at the Grand Palladium Bávaro are transformed into suites to provide a better holiday experience. The hotel is rebranded as the Grand Palladium Bávaro Suites Resort & Spa. In the Riviera Maya, a large number of rooms are upgraded at the Grand Palladium Kantenah Resort & Spa.
With the aim of updating and improving its online presence, the Palladium Hotel Group launches its new web site, optimised for all browsers and giving users with images and both general and specific information about all the hotels in the group.
Year 2014After reaching an agreement with Hard Rock International to operate in Europe under license, Palladium Hotel Group opens the Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza right next to the Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel, strengthening the Playa d'en Bossa's reputation as a premium area. This establishment, Europe's first Hard Rock Hotel, caters to all ages and types of customers, from families to young people and adults without children. It offers a wide range of VIP services complimented by an extensive selection of cuisines and leisure facilities, all in the casual, modern style of the Hard Rock brand.
In addition to Ibiza, improvements are made to various Caribbean resorts. Renovations are completed at the Grand Palladium Kantenah Resort & Spa. Additions include a new presidential suite boasting a private pool, sun terrace, living room and two bedrooms. The Royal Suites Turquesa by Palladium are also upgraded, with improvements to rooms and communal areas which include a new pool bar and several jacuzzis. Lastly, improvements to the Grand Palladium Jamaica Resort & Spa include a new mini-playground for children, a new a la carte restaurant as well as special beach access for guests with reduced mobility. The resort also builds a solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant, the largest in the country, which reduces the energy consumption of the complex by 30%.
Year 20152015 sees many innovations at the hotel chain. First, new brand architecture is designed, which leads to a reorganisation of the brand and product portfolio and the creation of a new organisational structure, which better reflects the current state of the company. For example, several Fiesta Hotels & Resorts establishments are redesigned and adapted in order to move up in category and build on the Group's progress toward a more premium brand. The former Fiesta Hotel Don Carlos, Fiesta Hotel Cala Llonga and Fiesta Hotel Palmyra join the new Palladium Hotels brand as Palladium Hotel Don Carlos, Palladium Hotel Cala Llonga and Palladium Hotel Palmyra. To meet the brand's requirements and standards, important changes are made to communal areas and rooms at the Palladium Hotel Palmyra, which becomes a 4-star superior hotel.
The plan to make Playa d’en Bossa into Ibiza's new epicentre moves forward again in 2015 with the opening of the Grand Palladium White Island Resort & Spa. With a similar format to the Group's resorts in the Americas, this resort is the result of the complete overhaul of the former Fiesta Club Palm Beach. It shares its services and facilities with the neighbouring Grand Palladium Palace Ibiza Resort & Spa. Together with the Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel and Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza, the renovated resort rounds out the island's range of high quality restaurants and leisure opportunities.
As regards the chain's plans for future expansion, at the beginning of 2015 the company announces a new agreement with Hard Rock International to open the Hard Rock Hotel Tenerife in 2016, at the site of the former Fiesta Hotel Playa Paraíso. Also, as regards the Ayre Hoteles brand, Palladium Hotel Group announces that it will add 55 rooms and new bars and restaurants to the Madrid Only YOU Hotel & Lounge. In addition, 2016 will see the opening of a new Ayre hotel in the Atocha area of Madrid, in a prime location right across from the AVE high-speed train station.
