Our Grand Palladium Resorts in Jamaica have recently hosted 'A Taste of Spain,' a tasting of Spanish wines organized by the Jamaican chapter of the global wine and spirits affiliate of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs and sponsored by the Spanish-Jamaican Foundation and the Spanish Ambassador on the island, Ms. Celsa Nuño.
The event highlighted the importance of gastronomy to the Spanish culture with a most delightful menu prepared by Executive Chef Frederick Gayle and his kitchen staff. The wait staff consisted mainly of students from the University of Technology's School of Hospitality and Tourism Management.
A wonderful selection of Spanish wines such as Marques de Riscal Rosado 2009, Albariño Veiga Naum 2009 and Viña Albina 2001 Gran Reserva, amongst others, was served along some of the most emblematic and savoring dishes of the Spanish cuisine, including cured ham, gazpacho, paella and natilla.
The proceeds from this event will go toward the development of local culinary talent. Our applause and congratulatory messages go to the kitchen team and the wait staff for the event's huge success.
