A parade of stars at the Salvador summer festival 2012 in Brazil

Once again, Salvador de Bahía welcomes a parade of stars during the 14th Summer Festival 2012 to be held in the Brazilian city on January 25-28.
Strategically held during the southern hemisphere summer, the Salvador Summer Festival provides a sample of the different Brazilian music genres. The Festival was created back in 1999 as part of the 450th anniversary celebrations of Bahía’s capital and has now become a must-attend event for renowned artists. Highlights of previous editions include performances by Ivete Sangalo with Saulo, Jason Mraz with Milton Nascimento and Carlinhos Brown with Chico Buarque, amongst others.
This 4-day Festival features several stages that will welcome more than 200.000 spectators of all ages who will sing and dance along with international and local artists and musicians such as James Blunt, Seu Jorge, Asa de Águia and many more. Top names in MPB, Sertenejo, Pop, Reggae, Pagode, Axe, Rock, Techno and other popular music styles will perform live in what many consider the prelude to the amazing Salvador Carnaval. In addition to the music shows, the festival grounds also have other attractions, including an electronic music tent inspired in the best international parties featuring famous DJs, a food court and a lounge where the public can unwind and interact with other fans between concerts.
The Festival will be held at the Parque de Exposições de Salvador, just ten minutes from the city and one hour drive from the Grand Palladium Imbassaí Resort & Spa.
