Jamaica's sky comes alive with lots of colors

The Jamaica International Kite Festival will be held on April 24-25 at Richmond Estates, Priory, St. Ann, on the northern coast of Jamaica.
Used in China for military operations thousands of years ago, kites have kept their popularity amongst children of all cultures…and all ages. So much so that during the last eight years Jamaica has been celebrating a festival dedicated to promote family entertainment featuring this special toy that some even consider a sport. The beautiful sky of this Caribbean island is the perfect backdrop for a great number of activities that the festival organizers will offer visitors of this new edition, which aims to beat last year’s 20,000 patrons. Young and old will enjoy a different kind of Easter Sunday and Monday thanks to the kite schools competitions, biggest kites, stunt fliers from the U.S., remote control planes and cars, and much more. The Festival will also include a fun kiddie village with bouncy castles, slides and face painting, and an outstanding line-up of live concerts featuring top names such as Shaggy, Beebie Man and Macka Diamond, amongst others. Visitors can also enjoy a great selection of Jamaican dishes at the colorful booths found around the complex.
