Salvador de Bahía, Brazil, welcomes the 13th edition of its Summer Festival

January 18, 2011 back
The 13th edition of the Salvador de Bahia Summer Festival will be celebrated on February 2-5 at the Expo Center in the Brazilian city. The Cidade da Musica (City of Music), as the Expo Center is better known for, will welcome more than 120 performances by renowned international artists such as Jazon Mraz, Ivete Sangalo, María Gadú, Jota Quest, Margareth Menezes and many more. The first Festival held back in 1999 celebrated the 450th anniversary of the third most important city in Brazil. During the last 13 years, the soteropolitanos (people from Salvador de Bahía) have been organizing the biggest music event in the country with a varied lineup featuring different music genres and guest artists from Brazil and around the world. This edition will have 6 main boxes, including one dedicated exclusively to Samba music and the Casa do Pagode (The Pagode House), which will be inaugurated specially for the event.
By the way, Margareth Menezes, one of the singers who will perform at the Salvador de Bahia Summer Festival, was our special guest at the inauguration of our Grand Palladium Imbassaí Spa & Resort last November.
It some happens that during the celebration of the Summer Festival, more than 200 bike riders will gather for the 1st Harley Davidson Meeting during the Bahía Road Festival on February 3-6. The capital of Bahía was selected not only for its tourist attractions but also for the great number of admirers of these powerful legendary machines.
