FHG joins Red Cross

Fiesta Hotel Group is currently collaborating with a campaign developed by the Red Cross and Entreculturas Foundation aimed at creating social awareness about the safety of our environment.

The hotels and resorts located in Spain are participating in the “Dona tu móvil” campaign that promotes the donation of used mobile phones in order to obtain funds for environmental, educational and development projects. The two main objectives are: the development of a series of social initiatives with the funds obtained from this campaign and the protection of the environment by complying with the 3 Rs, Reducing, Reusing and Recycling.

Fiesta Hotels & Resorts, Ayre Hoteles, Palladium Hotels & Resorts, Fresh Apartments, Mallorca Rocks Hotel, Sa Talaia Hotel Rural and Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel guests will have the chance to recycle their mobile phones and collaborate with this worthy cause by simply placing their phones, and any other accessories, in the bag they’ll find at the hotels’ front desks.

The funds obtained by the Red Cross will go to environmental projects and activities  such as awareness and educational campaigns targeting senior citizens. The Entreculturas Foundation will earmark funds to children’s schooling in Latin America and Africa. So far they’ve designated 65,000 euros to these projects.

Fiesta Hotel Group has also participated in other initiatives such as WWF’s Planet Hour in 2010, and collaborated with NGOs such as Infancia sin Fronteras and Un Juguete Una Ilusión Foundation. Last Christmas, more than 5,500 euros were given to support projects through these two organizations.
