The Grand Palladium Imbassaí Resort & Spa, which has been opened to the public since October 1st, held a special event on November 4-7 to celebrate the official inauguration of what will become one of the biggest resorts in Brazil and a great boost to Latin American tourism. The inaugural act was attended by more than 500 VIPs from the worlds of politics, tourism, Brazilian society and journalists. Carmen Matutes Prats, Deputy Director of Fiesta Hotel Group (in the photo with Antônio Carlos Tramm, Director of Tourism of Bahía, and João Gualberto Vasconcelos, Mayor of Mata de São João), gave the welcome speech: “After three years of hard work and challenges, it gives us great satisfaction to finally see our dream of opening our first Resort in South America come true. We chose Brazil because it is one of the fastest growing markets in the world.” Luis Fraguas Mora, General Manager of the Grand Palladium Imbassaí Resort & Spa, pointed out how proud he felt about being the Manager of a Resort that fully complies with Brazilian environmental laws in synergy with Fiesta Hotel Group’s sustainability policies. He added that “since its soft opening in October 1st, the Resort has exceeded all expectations in terms of occupancy. We feel very confident about the future of this new project.” In fact, during the inaugural event, the Resort was fully booked. In addition to the inaugural cocktail, guests were able to tour around the Resort’s facilities while enjoying its five-star service. The Secretary of Tourism of Bahia, Antônio Carlos Tramm, praised the “Bahiana touch” of the Resort’s decor, as well as the arrival of the Spanish hotel chain in the region. On Friday night, more than a 1,000 people enjoyed the spectacular concert performed by the diva Margareth Menezes who got everyone dancing to the rhythms of Bahia’s carnival music and energy.
