Following through on our commitment to promoting eco-friendly policies, the Grand Palladium Resorts in the Mayan Riviera with join in the celebration of the WTM World Responsible Tourism Day on November 10, 2010. This is the third year a special day is dedicated to responsible tourism during the World Travel Market, the most important tourism fair in the world, which will be held in London with the support of UNWTO (World Tourism Organization). The World Responsible Tourism Day is the only global movement that brings together companies, organizations and professionals from all over the world who are committed to supporting environmentally friendly policies. Thanks to this initiative, the tourism sector is able to respond to the increasing demand from customers who want to create a more sustainable world, and at the same time have the opportunity to discover the latest advances in the battle to reduce their impact in the planet. So in order to do out bit, the Grand Palladium Resorts in the Mayan Riviera will be holding different activities during that day, including the Best Environmental Gazette Contest and a trip to the archaeological area Ek-Balam with our staff, and the photo contest: “Our Environment Through Your Eyes” (landscape, local architecture, flora and fauna) open to all guests staying at the Resorts. In every Grand Palladium Resort, we are committed to the efficient usage of natural resources, encouraging our staff, guests and suppliers to participate in our environmental policies and promote eco-cultural actions and learning of sustainable and responsible tourism.
