After the riots between security forces and followers of Jamaica alleged drug dealer Christopher "Dudus" Coke in the area of Tivoli Gardens, Kingston, the Montego Bay area has remained calm at all times and hotel guests have not experienced any discomfort and were able to enjoy their stay at the Resort. Montego Bay airport remained open during the days of the conflict, and the hotel did not receive any cancellations or changes from its suppliers. The hotel has remained a safe place to enjoy the Caribbean island.
