Brazil comprises the eastern half of South America and some groups of islands in the Atlantic Ocean, with an estimated area of over 8 ½ million square kilometers, and is home to one fifth of the global territory and population.
The tropical climate is predominant in Brazil, and much of its territory is covered by the Amazon forest, with 3.6 million km2. Brazil is the country with the most animal species in the world.
The samba, bossa nova and lambada make up the traditional music in Brazil, known and famous worldwide for its people dancing in the streets in spectacular carnivals. Do not forget that Brazil boasts some of the world's best athletes, it was World Cup Champion 5 times, and volleyball is one of the most popular sports. In 2016 the country will host the Olympic Games.
